AI Overview

AIMany teams name this room their favorite at the location and praise the aha moments, effects, and the finale. Experienced groups find it too short or too easy and some finish well before the hour is up. A controversial rule cuts the remaining time to five minutes on the final puzzle, which can cause frustration. Occasionally there are short lulls that later turn into satisfying discoveries.
WeaknessesToo short and too easy for pros; some were out in half the time. The five-minute rule on the end puzzle is perceived as unfair. Pacing swings, and at times you’re left standing around at a loss.
StrengthsDense investigative atmosphere, cleanly told story, and a finale that builds to a nice climax. Puzzles feel fair and are fun to solve; a few neat effects add flair.
SecurityNo issues mentioned; the usual briefing and standards are to be expected. The storm is purely narrative and not an actual risk.
Level of fearFrom reviews: no horror, more matter-of-fact investigative tension. No indications of jump scares.
Actors' gameNo live actors mentioned; interaction is mainly via the gamemaster and subtle hints. The GM was described as friendly, but the end rule was perceived as disruptive.
Quality of riddlesLogical, varied enough, with a few genuinely lovely aha moments. Short stalls occur, but they make the payoff afterward bigger. The artificially ticking-down final puzzle can dampen the overall impression.
PlotYou investigate a murder in a back alley, hunt for victim, weapon, and culprit—and may uncover more than it first seems. The approaching storm drives the drama and ends in a high-pressure finale.
Difficulty levelVery doable for beginners and mixed teams. Experienced groups will likely blaze through; the shortened end-timer element can spike the difficulty.

After Going Underground, which was great, we played the three rooms at the other location. A focus on story is all well and good, but I’ve never lost a 60-minute room in 35 minutes—and here that happens because of a rule that, on the final puzzle, suddenly switches you to only 5 minutes remaining. According to the GM, many teams lose because of this; we failed the first one, the other two worked o

The game has some nice moments and cool effects, and the puzzles are pleasant to solve. However, it was too short and overall too easy for us; we finished in about half the expected time and kept thinking there would be more. If we hadn’t played all three rooms back-to-back, I would probably have been disappointed, because together they felt more like one big, complete game.

As part of the three rooms, it works great; on its own it feels a bit short. The puzzles are fair, and the story carries it. I’d recommend it to beginners right away.

Really nice investigative vibe; everything meshes well, and the finale really won us over. We moved quickly but weren’t bored. For me, a well-rounded crime experience.

Probably my favorite room at this location. There were stretches when we stood around stumped, but that only made it all the more satisfying when we finally discovered the clue we’d overlooked. The finale then provided a really fitting conclusion.

Cool effects and a few satisfying aha moments. Unfortunately, we were out in half the time and would have liked one more section. Still, solid entertainment.

On site, this was my favorite room. We had two brief stalls, then it clicked and the flow was back. The GM was pleasantly low-key, and the finale was cohesive.

The switch to a 5-minute timer on the final puzzle really annoyed us. Up until then it was okay to good, but that kind of artificial pressure at the end feels unfair.
